TOSH Detergents is a proudly South African manufacturing company that produces a range of environmentally conscious cleaning products — including pine gel, multipurpose cleaners, thick bleach, and dishwashing liquid — infused with indigenous plant extracts sourced directly from rural women harvesters. Our distribution innovation is also key. We've built a dual-channel model that includes both formal retail listings and township-based bulk resale networks. This allows us to reach customers across income levels, while creating new opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs to generate income. It’s a grassroots go-to-market approach that large competitors struggle to replicate due to their top-down models.

"Unlike conventional manufacturers that rely on mass-imported chemical raw materials, TOSH uses locally grown indigenous plants sourced from women in rural communities. This challenges the industry's dependence on synthetic, non-sustainable inputs and promotes biodiversity and job creation. They train and pay women harvesters, directly embedding social impact into their core operations. This shifts the conventional model of top-down manufacturing to a community-driven enterprise. They not distribute through large retailers but also they have an additional channels by allowing individuals to buy in bulk and repackage for resale, creating micro-enterprise opportunities in underserved areas."
